If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be and why?

Not to get political, but politics is well shit these days. I think in times of great peril, and upheaval, the best thing a person can be is vigilant and aware of false narratives.

Perhaps this is more a superpower than a skill obtainable by homo-sapiens, but imagine how better off we’d all be if we could see through propaganda and lies?

I don’t know about you guys, but I am fed up with the bombardment of bullshit from both sides of the fence. It’s a canyon of misinformation, disinformation and poisonous propaganda. The second I feel like I have a grip on reality, something comes along and nudges me off course.

Fascism, Communism, Islamists, Israel, Palestine, Russia, Ukraine, Trump, Kier Starmer… the list of constants is maddening.

We all want a better world, a cleaner and more equal world, but it seems everyone thinks they know the answer to its creation. No one besides us, the little guys, takes a moment to sit back and think about if any of these solutions are feasible and, authentic in their doctrine.

I know it isn’t my place to understand, or my world to fix in its entirety, but as a historian, journalist, and human being, I worry about the future and what ideology will take me from this once peaceful state of being.
