Here goes nothing…

Since the ‘Green Man Ultra’ failure, I haven’t taken much care of my fitness, and almost gave up on the idea of running long distance again. Last week, I decided to get back out there and try again.

Running, walking, hiking, gym and eating better. That was the goal, and I managed it, with ease and relative enjoyment. The first run after a long break is NEVER a fun experience.

As you all know, I am deep into the advocacy of Afghan Women’s Rights, and the liberation of all Afghanis from the tyrannical, perverse, theocratic regime known as ‘The Taliban’.

So, I have decided to train for a marathon. To raise money for the girls I interviewed, and bring awareness to the devastating realities of Islam, and its barbaric treatment of women, girls and those that follow it.

It has been a long while since I trained, and I am praying, by December I will be running 6 miles every other day, and perhaps have a better understanding of how this is going to work.

I have done a lot for charity over the last 10 years. 2016, I walked 1200 miles across the UK and Ireland from John O Groats to Lands End, raising over 2k for the ‘Walk the Walk’ charity, a organisation revolved around Breast Cancer treatment and research.

Some 5 years after than, my sister and I attempted to complete the 3 peaks challenge. Walking up all three of the highest peaks in Britain in 24 hours. We managed, Ben Nevis, Scarfel Pike and 80% of Snowdon before having to turn around due to a storm. We raised roughly 1k for SSAFA, an organisation that helps veterans.

Now, in 2026, after a turbulent 3 years. I have decided to raise money for something bigger, perhaps, than any I have attempted before. Refugee’s from Afghanistan, fleeing persecution.

I will be setting up a Instagram page so that everyone can keep track of my fitness, routine and updates on fundraising. I am also going to set up a monthly post, regarding the same progression. I will be wearing a shirt that advertises the charity and the go-fund-me page.

My next update (sometime at the end of September) will be regarding, an update on my training, a link to my NEW Instagram that will be documenting the journey, and the progress made towards funding, finding and distributing the money raised.
