Hey readers, I hope all is well with you and that life is a pleasure and never a chore, but if it is a chore, remember that’s what makes us grow.
I’ve moved to Canada, at last. I’ve been here for three weeks and honestly, I am loving life.
I managed to get a job in a restaurant/bar. I am taking weekly hikes in the mountains. I’ve started exercising and eating well.
My partner and her family have been incredibly supportive and hospitable.
There are cultural differences here that I am struggling to adapt too. Canadians are polite, friendly, clean and environmentally aware, four things we certainly are not in the United Kingdom.
They are not depressed, money still has value, and jobs are taken seriously, unlike us.
I’m going to take some time to really delve into the Canadian culture, to attempt to fully amerce myself and figure out if this is the country for me.
This years Uncharted Thoughts quest, failed. I have managed to completely derail the path it was on last year, and come out with some pretty poor stats.
I have to go away for a while, and consider if this is the journey I still want to put so many hours into.
My dreams are dying. Not because I had no love or ambition for the projects, but because my life is changing.
I’ve had this blog for hour years now, and I’ve truly poured as much into it as I could.
I had a dream to write travel books. Thick coffee table tomes that would spark the imagination and wonder of everyone that read them.
Each chapter would cast the reader into a different country. Each would have sections of history, geography, culture and people. It wasn’t going to be a book, it was going to be a feeling, a place, a emotion. To mix travel writing a journalism together, to make people see the world in a way that was differentt.
I had planned to have magical photographs, interviews from local hero’s, promote charities… the list truly was endless. Now, I wonder if I will ever be able to fulfill this dream.
I don’t want to say goodbye, neither will I, but the truth is, I don’t know how much longer I will continue Uncharted Thoughts.
