“What about radical Islamists that think that all LGBTQ people will go to hell…”

A month or so ago Young Bob, a alt-right Christian nationalist was assaulted in the streets of Manchester after debating in one of his open air debates. It’s tragic that a 17 year old was beaten in our streets simply for voicing and opinion, no matter how annoying the little brat is, we should never resolve to violence when in debate.

He returned, last week with a security team and some more cameras and microphones. His subject matters this time was mass deportation, illegal immigration and Pride. Two issues that are headlining in the news, and one that seems needlessly debated.

His stance on these topics are as follows: we need to cut migration down to a bare minimum, illegal migrants should be sent home and preferable stopped at or before the boarder, and Pride should be banned.

See for me, the subject of stopping illegal immigrants isn’t a debate. I think that there are legal routes set up for migrants and entering a nation without authority is a crime and should be delt with by deportations and arrests. No illegal should be able to walk the streets of the UK. It’s a safety concern and will cause criminal activities to grow.

As for migration, there is no denying that it is causing a lot of strain on the housing market, on the NHS and on the public sector. Personally, this should be monitored and perhaps reduced to a more suitable and sustainable level. However, I think migration is essential to the UK, and I enjoy having certain cultures here.

Pride is where Young Bobs sheep’s clothing falls from his wolf like form. It’s strange isn’t it, that he would debate important topics such as illegal migration, and migration along side something such as Pride. Well actually this is done by design, see the way to get a following these days is to have several topics that the majority agree on bunched up with a topic that most people are somewhat impartial on. It creates a singularity within the world view of those listening. I agree, illegal migration is an issue, I agree that migration needs to be controlled, however I disagree with Bobs stance on Pride. A lot of people will therefore mould their world view to fit the bigger issues and ignore the Pride aspect of the debate because it isn’t as pressing as illegal immigration.

Pride is a celebration of the liberation of homo-sexuality. It is often outrageous in its performances and sometime a bit in-your-face with it’s parades. Yet, it is on the whole a harmless event of celebration. Bob, is a Christian, and by definition a homophobic. You can not be both a Catholic, or Protestant and believe that homosexuality is not damned by God.

His motive is simple, raise concerns of the masses, and slid in a Christian belief with it. Get the masses wound up by Illegal immigration, while also promoting homophobic ideologies.

At one point a girl steps forward and debates Bob on this subject. Saying work should be a place everyone feels welcome, that Pride flags is a symbol of welcoming people into a space. Bob responded with What about radical Islamists that think that all LGBTQ people will go to hell…”

Thing is Bob, this is exactly what you think about LGBTQ people… you are an Islamist are two sides of the same coin.

It is times like this were I wish for Christopher Hitchens was around to smite these Christian nationalists to the curb. Christian values are NOT the answer to Islamism.

Christ’s message has been corrupted. Christianity has forgotten its foundational message… Love, Forgiveness and compassion for the poor. Not hate for gays, hate for foreigners and racism.
