What a great question, for me there is only really one true answer to this question and I think it will surprise you. I am an Agnostic, not an Atheist as the title shows, I believe in science and I trust the process of science. I do not believe in a God, neither in miracles or prophets. However, until we find out there is no God, I can not commit to it being a truth, and I highly doubt we will ever figure out the God question.
I think there is an arrogance to ‘Atheism’ an arrogance that is also found in every religion, certainty. Atheists are certain there is no God, just as Christians and Muslims are certain there is one. I think this is a chain often shackling the human mind and to emancipate humanity we must ignore certainty.
Should I have to bet my life savings on the fact, I’d certainly put my money on God not being real, at least in the contexts of Abrahamic religions, or any other religion I have explored so far.
Anyway, should this question be directed to a ‘real’ person, or a fictitious person, perhaps my answer may change. For although I am certain Jesus was real, I know not the legitimacy of the Bible and the words within it. However, I know the message.
LOVE
The message is simple. Love each other, as I have loved you.
Should we request that this question is in standing with a person of complete legitimacy, that the person we are inspired by has to be 100% real. Then I move my answer to the prophet of humanism… Martin Luther King Jr. Yet, his message is one of Jesus’s teachings and by default I believe that Jesus’s message is inspiring.
