Photographers assemble.

Sometime last year I bought a camera. I had saved up for a couple months, trying to balance food, rent, transport, and bills, while also putting £20 or so a month to one side for a treat.

My fiancé and I visited Reel Camera, a second hand camera shop in Manchester. A man greeted us, talked me through the types of camera, the prices, the pro’s and con’s to each and took genuine care about our needs.

After some time, I picked a film camera. One that had the capabilities of a digital camera, with a built in system that helps with focusing, zooming and all that stuff. While also keeping the same classic film aesthetic and feel.

Since then, I’ve been exploring photography as and where I can. Developing photographs, taking my camera to Greece, Italy and Canada. Enjoying the ability to create art, with the click of a button. To explore the world through angles and perspective.

Now, a year later, and 10 or so film rolls down. I am looking to explore a digital camera. Something really effective at landscape and portrait alike. I’ve been recommended the Nikkon D500 by a travel photographer.

But if any of my readers know anything about digital cameras… and can recommend me somewhere to start, I’d be very greatful.
