AI FREE ZONE
There are so many fictional worlds I’d love to explore, and as a massive geek/nerd for fantasy and all things world building, the selection is massive.
From the rolling hills of the shire in Tolkien’s Middle Earth, to the desert dunes of Arrakis, and the dystopian city planet of Ready Player One, the possibilities are endless.
However, there are hidden details of the question I should definitely ask.
Can I die in this world? would my death here be permanent? Do I arrive as I am dressed? Can I speak the native language? Can I adept myself to the worlds cultures? Will I be poor or rich here?
Because, if I am going to enter Middle Earth, I’d like to be able to defend myself, or go with the knowledge that I can’t die?
Imagine a 21st century man, with no sword or bow experience entering a world dominated with Orc’s, Trolls and Goblins.
I guess I could just spend my time in the Shire, and hope it isn’t following the fall of Saruman and the Scouring of the Shire. Knowing my luck I’d drop into Mordor surrounded by Orcs and deadly black riders.
If we are equipped with the skills set needed to be in the world, I’d have to go to Hogwarts. No question. 24 hours in that castle will be a dream come true. Exploring the castles secret passages, flying on a broom, dueling with other students. There truly is no limit to the fun and adventure of J.K.Rowling’s world, even if it makes no sense.
If I don’t arrive with the skill set. I’m just a mudblood ripe for exploitation, bullying and a potential violent pogrom.
I’ve always had a fascination, and deep desire to be alone in the world. To watch nature take over, and see the trophies on mankind crumble.
Worlds like ‘The Last of Us’, spark a world of imagination and ambience. Imagine setting up a camp in a skyscraper, overlooking a dark overgrown city while it rains. There’s a peaceful bliss to it.
But then again there are mushroom demon monsters.
So to answer the question, probably Hogwarts.
