I travelled, as far and wide as I possibly could. I worked every shit job offered to me, and I took every sacrifice in the pursuit of travel. I was, and still am, relentlessly attempting to see as much of this planet as I can before I die.

Now, 31, and moving to Canada in the next few weeks, I have visited 35 countries and intend to keep going for another 9 years before stopping.

I’ve seen wonders from every corner of the planet, all done while working kitchen, cleaning and pub jobs. My only hand out was my ability to live at home (I still paid rent).

I watched a cow get beaten to death with a hammer in the Amazon.

I watched the sun rise of the Annapurna mountain range.

I met women from a land that hates them, and watched them cry in rage.

I hitch hiked the deserts of the US, walked among the homeless.

I’ve met a North Korean, and motored my way through the jungles of Vietnam.

I’ve seen ancient wonders, from the old cities in Europe, to the hidden cities in the Americas.

I walked across five countries, all while living in a tent.

I lived in a car in Iceland, for a month and watched Pilot whales.

I witnessed a volcanic explosion when hiking one of the deepest gorges in the world.

I’ve met some of the best people imaginable, walking among the evil of the world.

I saw a child with a swollen head in a cage, as his mother sold fruits and hats above him.

I seen the starving, the fat, and everything in between.

When I was fourteen, I said I’d see the world, and if I died tomorrow, I’d leave knowing I did everything I could.

With a list of ten countries to see before I die, my attitude towards travel is shifting, though never any less bright.

Mongolia, China, Japan, Indonesia, Argentina, Mexico, Iran, Costa Rica, Russia and Kenya are yet to be visited.
