I was about to write a lengthy, humorous article about Billie Eilish and the insufferable shitshow that was the Grammys. And I got half way through, when the inevitable happened… 3 million files were released from the FBI.
It is a moment we have all been waiting for, a day most of us thought would have never come. Jeffery Epstein was a human trafficker, a sex predator, paedophile, and a baby killer?
There is no doubt in my mind that the files that are yet to be released have horrors beyond our comprehension. That when they are realised, the United States will see violent, riots and civil unrest across the country.
Jumping on the band waggon has never been my style, and there is yet to be any ‘solid’ evidence of baby killings, cannibalism and cultish sacrifices, but there is without a doubt, compelling evidence.
As someone who has studied history, and read a lot of Roman historical literature. I am not as surprised of these allegations as others. While my friends this week held their head in hands as we discussed the current findings of the files, I couldn’t help but find it strange that these horrendous crimes were so inconceivable to them.
It is well understood that society has changed over the last four, five thousand years, but our minds have not. The same mental illnesses, sadistic thoughts and perverse contemplations that plagued the minds of the ancient world, still lurk in ours.
One such human glitch is the gravitation power has towards worst of our species. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It is no surprise to me that the elite are into the most deprived elements of human affairs. In fact, I would be more surprised if there were zero paedophile cults than if there were hundreds.
Take Mohammad, a warlord, who’s goal was to spread Islam by the sword. He married a 6 year old and consummated the marriage when she was 9.
Genghis Khan fathered over one thousand children. Do you think these were all by willing, non trafficked women?
The Nazi’s raped and tortured Jewish girls in their death camps.
The term ‘comfort women’ was donned by sex slaves in the second world war. Women who had been captured by Japanese soldiers abused and tormented by soldiers as a way to ‘blow off steam’.
Japanese Samurai used to have ‘apprentice’ boys who they’d sexually abuse, while under their leadership.
The Catholic Church, and any church for that matter, could fill entire books in small print of the crimes their priests and nuns have committed upon the young.
In my opinion, Epstein is but surface level. Although I do not wish to downplay the horrific crimes of Jeffrey and the countless others that participated in his debauchery, I believe that in every country, in every city, these crimes are ongoing within the higher levels of society.
No child or woman is safe from the gaze of these villains. If they want them, there is little to nothing that can truly get in their way.
In 1215, some 811 year ago, the Magna Carta was signed by King John. It proclaimed that the rule of law, was the primary authority of England. That no man, not even the King of England was above the law,
Fast forward 800 years and the crimes business men are ignored, let alone the crimes of a princess. They live lawlessly, protected by wealth, power and connections, while their subjects, and workers are imprisoned for possession of cannabis.
Some six months ago, I sat in court as a journalist. A young man of nineteen was sentenced to eight years for possession of class A drugs, with the means to distribute. A crime of course, and one I think is deserving of punishment, but mean while the likes of Prince Andrew walks free, and Bill Gates continues to lecture the public on child safety.
The rich will continue to get away with depravity, as the lowly criminals are thrown to the executioners block.
Perhaps you are not convinced entirely of my argument, perhaps the jumps from one or two wrongens in power, to a globally run paedophile ring is to far fetched, and if you asked me four or five years ago, I’d agree.
But look at the world in a more micro level of corruption. Look at your work place, friend group, or local council. There is power trips in every walk of life, and as the levels come with more power, the corruption doubles.
At my workplace right now, a member of staff beat up another, and due to the their placement in the chain of command, there has been zero justice done. Some members of staff can sit around doing nothing, while others are worked to the bone. Promotions are given by status, not merit.
There are even rumours of sexual harassment, and sexual crimes conducted in the work place, yet nothing has been done about it.
That’s one hotel, in one corner of the country, with very little power. Imagine what goes on further up the chain of command.
I do believe we are living in a lawless society, although murder and rape are crimes, if we can not punish the elite, then the laws are tiered, and therefore our institution of law is corrupted and thus unclean.
It is also my opinion that those of power, authority, and with the fall back of wealth should be punished beyond the common man. Why? because there is no world where crime is a fallback option for them.
Distributing drugs as a poor person could be a fall back option. They need to make money so that they may eat. No lawyer, business man or monarch needs to distribute narcotics so they can eat.
Jeffery Epstein was worth some $600 million dollars. His trafficking of women and girls was a choice.
This makes the act, the more immoral.
I am not one for the death penalty. I think too often we are wrong, and to condemn a man to death is so final.
However, much like my opinion of governance, I believe certain positions of power should have certain privileges taken away.
I personally believe that a person in office, should not be paid for their position. Of course allowances should be made, those allowances should be based off the average income of their subjects.
Travel should be paid for, and their modest homes should additionally be a part of the bargain. But, they should not make a dime from governance.
I think that a person in power, who has been accused of rape, murder, exploitation, trafficking or paedophilia should be punished with more severity than those without power.
The sword of Damocles. An ancient tale of power and corruption. With great power, should come great danger. We as a civilization now fail the victims of crimes, by allowing the corrupt and powerful to dodge the sword of justice.
It is also my opinion that those in public office should have their emails, phones and any other form of communication monitored by the likes of MI5, or perhaps a independent national security force.
I believe that with great power, should come great sacrifice. Of course, there should be limits, and with the technological advances of today being as they are, these limits can easily be enforced by AI security.
Perhaps this is extreme, perhaps the news of these crimes have triggered me into a more extremist mindset against power and corruption, but we have failed as a society to keep up with a fast pace world. We have forgotten the nature of power and those that possess it.
I wonder, what do you think about power? How should we learn from the mistakes made by allowing Jeffery and others get away with their crimes.
What should happen to Prince Andrew? Bill Gates and others that have been caught?
