The Death of Charlie Kirk is a threat to all!

I have sat on this topic for a while now, thought about it extensively and tried my hardest to listen to all perspectives. Like most of us, I watched as a bullet tore through the neck of a 31 year old man as he debated in front of a college campus. Finally, I have come to my conclusion.

While I can honestly say, I agree with very little of Charlie Kirks theories. However, I wouldn’t say I disagree on everything, a sort of 70/30 ratio. One thing I can agree on, almost completely is that agree, or disagree with him there is no cause for celebration in his death.

His voice, right or wrong, was a voice of a human being, a man that bleeds, a father that laughs, and husband that loved and a son that was once cradled in the arms of his parents. Although, I am not religious, I wish Charlie a restful eternal sleep wherever he is.

This is an attack on freedom of speech, this is an attack on freedom of expression and an attack on creators and journalists alike.

As someone who has been threatened by a hateful organisation, I somewhat, though not to the same degree as Charlie, understand the fear that comes with opinions.

For context, I investigated and infiltrated a Neo Nazi group in Manchester. My face was plastered all over their group chat following my investigation, as was my name. They labelled me a leftie, small penised, Jew lover. I’ll leave you to interoperate which of these are false and which are real…

We, and when I say we, I mean all those that believe in the freedoms we have in countries practicing common law, freedom of expression and speech are under attack from a small, yet deadly group of people that have been taught its okay to punch and kick someone when they disagree with their opinion. That they are correct, and that everyone else is wrong and a bigot and fascist.

It started with cancel culture, and has now escalated into murder and arson.

It must be noted here that the killers intensions and political alignment is yet to be determined.

Each time I put my fingers to pads, and pens to paper, I am now questioning my life… Perhaps, you can laugh at this and many of you will. A journalist with a readership of 20/30 a day believing his life in danger from radicals… Well, actually yes. My life in in danger now, though I do not expect to be bashed quite yet, my name is in the books of Neo-Nazi’s in Manchester, the city I live in and my political opinions on the far left are well documented.

Charlie believed in Jesus, and God and the sanctity of life at conception. He believed in gun ownership, freedom of speech, and the careful watch of Islamic communities in America and European countries. He was killed for this…

If you celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk, you should be ashamed of yourself. If you danced on TikTok, if you posted “Hell yeah, burn in hell”, if you laughed with your friends or hosted a “Kirk is dead” party, you should look in the mirror and repent for your ideological sins.

For the same freedoms Charlie practiced his ideological debates, are the same that allow you to say “Fuck Charlie Kirk” or that same that allow you to dye your hair pink and purple, or the same that allow you to have sex with the person you love be them male or female. Wanna protest against the deaths of those in Palestine, Charlie wanted to debate LGBTQI legality.

I do not praise Charlie as Trump does, but I sure as hell support his ability to say words.

A couple of days ago, men and women from across the country went to London to protest the current government. 110,000, 150,000, or 1,000,000,000, the numbers are debated. As I watched on form a LIVE Youtube blogger, and the Guardian, colleagues and customers alike all bashed them as ‘far-right’ or ‘fascists’.

My opinion on these marches have their own place, and a blog much longer than this one is needed to explore it completely. But, the reaction of the left, of my co-workers and customers said more about the intolerance of the left than it did about the right.

“Fascists”, “Toothless and jobless”, “Uneducated and racist”.

Since when did the left start shooting shots at the jobless? Since when did the left bark insults at those in need of medical care? Since when did the left degrade the uneducated?

It seems to me that the ‘left’ is no longer the progressive, tolerant and educated people of the 19th century. Rather a bitter, violent and incoherent ideologically highjacked nonsense party that’s only objective is to destroy order in an attempt to build a new world order.

It seems they are trying to speed run the collapse of capitalism, and care little who or what gets in the way.

Yesterday, while at work, I was talking to a friend of one of our staff about my inability to choose a side. “Does your ass hurt while at on the fence” he said.

To which I replied “Well yes, it should be a uncomfortable experience choosing a side”.

While the debate was somewhat censored and halfarsed on my side, due to the fact I wasn’t willing to have a debate about Palestine or housing or if refugees are welcome in the UK while serving customers beers in a pub.

I noticed the mood shift very quickly upon my disagreement with Islam. Bare in mind, I inherently disagree with all religious scripture. Yet, Islam was the centre point of this discussion.

He asked about my time in Pakistan, I said “It’s hard to talk anything positive about it because I was interviewing women who had been tortured and raped by the Taliban”.

I then said “Well, if you are trying to build a nation on the scriptures of a long dead warlord, it won’t be peaceful. The reason those nations are that way is due to them never having a period of enlightenment “.

He was not pleased with this answer.

Now back to my point. I like this guy, he is intelligent, funny and like myself travelled a lot of the world. Do I expect him to talk to me again? No, probably not. I expect him, though I can not say for certain, to avoid talking to me almost altogether.

In university, I’ve been called every name under the sun. A fascist, homophobic, a racist, a capitalist, a jew lover, a genocidal supporter, a this and a that…

When my views are quite the opposite. I believe in democracy, I support gay marriage, I believe in socialist values (such as free health and education), I hate all religion equally, I do not support the killing of anyone unless in self defence (even then it is really dependent on the situation) and I love freedom and equality.

Yet, when I say, I think the LGBTQ community does more harm than good for the gay community… suddenly I am homophobic.

The left has never lost my support, I will continue to believe in these values. Yet, I no longer identify with the ‘neo-left’ that has risen from the classrooms of universities. A violent, cancel culture, who thinks shouting and screaming will solve the issues of our time.
