The world is a mess. It feels as though every turn you take leads to a devastating road. I often find myself worried for my family, for my friends and loved ones.
I count my blessings of course. I live in a relatively free society, I have the girl of my dreams, a job, and a future. But even with these incredible opportunities I find myself in a place of fear and confusion.
Where once I dreamt of great endeavours, now, I seek only to have a life of modestly. A home that I can live in, enough money to raise a child in a safe area with the ability to support them, and any hobbies they wish to pursue. It is sad, that what was once available and normal in the West, and across much of the world is now a luxury we will never have.
I have friends of ages 21-35. 2 have houses, one has a kid. That is a sad state of reality.
Instead, now we are distracted by nonsense political, social and religious discussion.
Which side am I on? I mean that’s what society is asking me. Every day. Am I anti-immigration? am I a globalist? Do you care about those fleeing conflict? Do you not care about your nation and its history and heritage? Do you support terrorists and Islamists? Do you support Israel? Do you care about children dying? Are you racist? Are you a supporter of LGBTQ+? Christ is king right? Muhammad is the prophet of Allah? You like your taxes going towards migrant hotels? You like children and women being prayed on by illegals? Civil war is coming, who’s side are you on?
We are bombarded with these question of loyalty everyday. On social media, on the news, by our friends, ever aspect of our short lives are being pulled into different direction.
I wonder, perhaps while we are now more connected technologically, we have lost our ability to seek true connection.
Without sounding too much like a hippy, or someone who has smoked the devil lattice. Perhaps the key to unlocking happiness in this world, is to remain silent, and to ignore the words of screens. To absorb only what the universe shows you. Reality is what we see, not what we are told to see.
Did you know, that last year a Jewish man strangled a three year old girl to death in front of her family because he saw the devil in her?
Did you know that a Muslim man raped a Christian boy in Africa because Allah told him that he a Jinn?
Did you know a white boy in America was labelled the rebirth of Christ in a cult called ‘Jesus Land’ and called for a Holy War in the middle east and the eradication of both Jews and Muslims?
No, well that’s because non of them ever happened. Yet instinctively, and perhaps due to some biological mishap in out brains, we believe whatever is in front of us.
There are rules to media, and news outlets, you can’t just make things up. But there are no rules to social media, and personal outlets… such as Uncharted Thought’s.
Both sides of the political spectrum are equally to blame. The right injects fear and hatred into the lives of everyday people, the left, nihilism and ignorance to the reality of the world.
Both, are equally as dangerous.
I am refusing to take a side.
Lets take the Gaza / Palestine / Israel conflict.
It’s a push and pull competition to attract traction from the international community. A rigged propaganda war that seeks to dismantle aligences and reality.
We have the right to vote, we have the right to think and speak. We also have the right to stop. To find peace and to live a life we wish to live.
We have, by divine intervention or through the grace of the universe, been granted a planet of wonders. Let us not return to ashes with only the memories of anxiety and displeasure.
Seek truth and wisdom, but seek it through first hand experiences. Not through the eyes of liars.
