The Rise of Reform UK.

According to a new Poll from YouGov, an internet research marketing and data gathering firm. Reform UK, led by the controversial leader Nigel Farage, is leading the polls. This is an astounding jump up through the ranks of Britain’s ruling parties, and one that people are hoping will make a radical, and essential change in the United Kingdoms political landscape.

Reform UK, was established in 2018, under ‘The Brexit Party’. A year prior to the devastating 2019 election that witnessed, no one. not two, but three MP’s step up to take the reigns of prime minister for the already 10 year ruling conservative party. Boris Johnson, who resigned due to the party gate scandal. Liz Truss, who managed to create a new economic stance and almost cripple the entire economy in less that 50 days and Rishi Sunak, who held firm to a rotting branch.

Since then, Reform UK has seen two elections. The first, with the not so subtle pseudonym ‘The Brexit Party’ saw them win no seats. In the Second, won by the Labour party in 2024, the UK witnessed a small, new party took 5 seats in major constituencies.

Having seen the German Vote revealed this morning, it is clear that the right are starting to dominate Europe. With Poland at the helm, closely followed by Hungary and wading into the water behind German and the United Kingdom. How or why has this happened?

Well, I think it’s simple. The left has failed a large proportion of the UK and its natives. The nation got so comfortable dismissing white men for their privilege they forgot that 40 something percent of the nation was white and male. The nation tried to marginalise its largest group, make them feel bad for who they are and tried to attack the standards of this nation.

That along with a crumbling economy that no one is able to fix, not labour, not the conservatives, no one. Has led the population to push for a new alternative way of living. Something that is common in Europe and across the globe throughout history. When the economy suffers, and the majority are told to shut up and listen because the middle class knows best, the country looks for an alternative. In this case, that is Reform UK.

Of course, illegal immigration is a massive part of this move to the right. I will stress here that it is by far not the most important issue. The economy homes first, then housing and employment and then the NHS. Illegal immigration follow shortly after that however.

And it’s a tale as old as time that illegal immigration is an escae goat for far right groups. But, the truth is, there is 14.4 billion pounds being spent housing, clothing and feeding the illegals that enter this country. That is a lot of money. Money that could be used elsewhere.

Perhaps if the United Kingdom was not economically collapsing, socially confused and safe. The illegal immigration wouldn’t be as much of an issue as it is today.

How we got here.

Well, to me as a historian and a student of politics and communications. It’s clear how we got here. We sold out industries, we were broken following Thatcher’s attempt to privatise everything and large cooperation’s sucking the life out of everyday people.

It’s that simple.
